Giving to those less fortunate, has always been a drive for the founders of Keeping It Real Ministries. Whether it be time, knowledge, or goods it always made Minister Hardnett, Fern Williams, and Alissa Khouri feel like they are making a difference in the world. But as individuals each could only accomplished so much.

In 1996 when Fern Williams met Minister Hardnett they found that they both posses the same desires to help those in need in any way they can. With church members and other friends Minister Hardnett, and Fern coordinated various drives to collect and distribute supplies to the elderly and others in need of the supplies.

In the following years the two would combine to give large amounts of time & goods to those in need. Some of those events;

Food drives
Clothes drive
Walk-a-thons

Fast forward to 2006 enter Alissa Khouri, sister of Fern Williams. After many years of not staying in touch due to the busy life of both sister they finally re-connected. After many phone conversations, and recapping of what they’ve been doing all these years they both realize they both enjoyed helping others. During a telephone conversation that lead to the topics of books, Fern & Alissa decided to create a book club. With the core theme of helping others uplift the mind, body, and soul. After many phone sessions with Minister Hardnett, and Alissa, Fern decided that they should pool all their resources, and Keeping It Real Ministries was formed.
